Dental Crowns

Broken, chipped, or discolored teeth can severely affect your self-confidence. You may worry that others are focusing on your less-than-perfect smile. At Greenway Family Dental, we have a simple solution that can greatly improve your smile and even boost your self esteem. We offer dental crowns or dental “caps” that will help conceal your smile imperfections.

A dental crown can provide reinforced strength and fortified protection to your damaged tooth. It can also significantly improve the appearance of a tooth that has been broken, chipped, or discolored.

Do I Need A Dental Crown?

If you grind your teeth during sleep or have broken, chipped, or discolored teeth, you may be a good candidate for receiving a dental crown. If you’ve had a root canal, you may also need a crown. Crowns are an affordable way to replace and restore your damaged tooth.

The Procedure and CEREC

The procedure is relatively simple and noninvasive, especially with the use of our CEREC machine. The CEREC machine will assist in fitting you with a same-day crown. In the past, patients would have to use sticky, unpleasant-tasting mold. Then, the mold would be sent to a lab. The lab could take up to two weeks to create a custom dental crown. With CEREC, that time frame is reduced to just one day, so that you can have a beautiful smile in virtually no time!

First, your Doctor and their team will consult with you to determine your individual needs and concerns. Next, they will clean the area around the tooth to help clear it of infection and bacteria. Then, an odorless, tasteless impression will be made of your affected tooth. Finally, using the CEREC machine, your Doctor and their team will create your high-quality dental crown!

Once your crown is complete, we will place it over your affected tooth. Your Doctor and their team will make sure it fits snugly and comfortably in your mouth. Then, you should be able to leave our office with your brand new, beautiful smile!

For some patients, CEREC may not meet their needs. However, this is typically rare. If you cannot use CEREC and need a dental crown, we will work with you to get you the dental restoration you need.
