Porcelain Veneers

At Greenway Family Dental we always encourage our patients to take good care of their teeth, through regular brushing and flossing and coming in for routine cleanings and exams. However, even if you have extremely good oral hygiene, you may not be thoroughly pleased with your smile.

Modern dental technology provides many wonderful options to help patients improve the look of their teeth. If you have teeth that are chipped, misshapen, or discolored, or have other visible irregularities, we recommend dental veneers.

A Great Option

For some, teeth whitening or getting a crown may not be the right choice. Porcelain veneers offer an alternative solution to improving the appearance of your smile. Unlike teeth whitening, veneers don’t remove stains. Instead, they cover your teeth.

Veneers can also be used to hide gaps, uneven teeth, or irregularly-shaped teeth. The veneers are bonded to your teeth, making them a great solution for improving your smile.

What You Can Expect

If you choose to get dental veneers, Dr. Steele will first perform a thorough exam of your teeth. He may take X-rays, as well. Our goal is to create veneers that are specifically tailored to you.

The information collected during your exam is sent to a lab where the veneers are actually created. This usually takes one or two weeks.

On your next visit, your teeth will be cleaned and polished and prepared to receive the veneers. Before he applies the bonding material to your teeth, Dr. Steele will place the veneers to check that they fit your teeth properly.

If necessary, he will trim or adjust the veneers. Finally, the bonding material will be applied, then the veneers. When the bonding material is hardened and the veneers are successfully in place, Dr. Steele will check your bite.

The Good News About Porcelain Veneers

With proper care, veneers can last several years. They are a simple, effective way to dramatically improve the look of your teeth. Dental veneers are also resistant to stains, though you should still brush them regularly. We’re sure once they’re in place, you’ll love your new smile.
